Licensing and commercial distribution
Purpose
HSLG is intended for commercial hospitality use. Permission to run code, distribute an APK, ship a WordPress plugin, display images or use a trademark are different rights. A dependency licence is not proof that every asset inside an app can be commercially distributed.
Ownership and release scope
Review each release channel separately: (1) WordPress HSLG Presentation plugin, (2) independently packaged HSLG App API plugin, (3) optional documentation publisher, (4) Android APK/AAB, (5) iOS IPA, and (6) published documentation and the Development Log. Include generated code, transitive libraries, binary archives, fonts, images and screenshots where distributed. A dependency used only in the build environment does not necessarily need to be redistributed, but its installation and usage terms still apply.
Commercial release policy
A documentation/source checkpoint may include unresolved items when they are recorded and the binary release remains blocked. A commercially distributed artifact needs affirmative evidence for each included third-party component and asset, complete dependency closure, applicable notices, and confirmation of platform/service terms. A successful npm install, Composer install, Gradle build or WordPress activation is not a licence review.
Evidence before approval
For every component record: exact package or asset, version/hash, owner/licensor, licence identifier, authoritative licence text or written grant, permitted uses, attribution/notice obligations, redistribution obligations, restrictions, release artifact inclusion, source link, proof location, and reviewer/date. config/license-evidence.json is the current machine-readable baseline. Its unverified entries are not grants of commercial permission.
Applicable law
The register is engineering compliance evidence, not legal advice or a final legal opinion. GPL-compatibility, artwork rights, individual privacy consent and local consumer regulations can require a specialist review. Escalate any ambiguous or conflicting grant before shipping.
